Barry Shalen has been a practicing attorney since 1992. He has been with Goldberg & Osborne since 1994. Barry graduated from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, California, where he was an award-winning member of the school’s Moot Court team. Barry is licensed to practice law in both California and Arizona.
Beginning in 1994, Barry managed Goldberg & Osborne’s Metro Center Office for eight years. In 2002, he transferred to the firm’s litigation department at Arcadia Crossing where he has procured several seven-figure settlements. He recently co-chaired a jury trial that returned a $200,000 plaintiff verdict and helped settle another case for $1,150,000.
Aside from a Law Degree, Barry also has a Master of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice/Corrections from Kent State University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from City University of New York’s Bernard M. Baruch College. In between college and graduate school, Barry also attended a one-year comic book art workshop taught by famed Marvel Comics artist, the late John Buscema. He even self-published his own comic book in 1981 and sold copies as far away as Japan.
Before joining the legal profession, Barry spent twelve years working in the field of social services. His work included job-training programs for at risk youth and welfare mothers, inner city youth diversion programs and homeless shelters for both adolescents and families.
Barry is married and lives locally with his wife and their two children. The family is actively involved with several local charitable organizations.
